As we continue to learn more about COVID-19, we are forced to make challenging decisions that will change our normal, daily operations. While changes are necessary to ensure the safety of our community – children and families – and our staff, all decisions are made with child safety at the center.
Keeping strong lines of communication with our community, as always, is imperative. You can follow us on Facebook at Marion County Children Services for the most up-to-date information regarding our agency. Please do not hesitate to contact us at 740-389-2317, Monday-Friday from 8:30am – 4:30pm. Our on-call staff is available 24/7 by contacting Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 740-382-8244.
Now more than ever, children need a supportive community. Supporting and strengthening families has the greatest impact on the prevention of child abuse. Your teamwork is imperativeto ensure safe children and strong families. By reaching out, you can truly help prevent child abuse. It might be offering to baby sit, providing clothing, food, transportation, or helping families get information on community-based resources.
As first responders and leaders of protection of children in our community, our staff will continue to remain available because child safety is our priority. Please continue to call in your concerns in a timely manner, and we will work together to assist families during this uncertain time of need.
