Child Abuse and Neglect Training

The public is invited to participate in a FREE training course that focuses on child abuse and neglect warning signs, the investigation process and the laws that surround it.

The goal is to create awareness in the community and to contribute to the protection of abuse and neglected children.

Two types of training are available:

A shorter 3 hour session - Typically what people from the public really want to know; Why the agency is or isn't intervening, what constitutes abuse and neglect and when someone should call in reports of suspected abuse.

A more detailed 6 hour session - Typically for daycare providers and others who work with children on a regular basis. This session adds components about alleged perpetrators and why they commit abuse and neglect.

All trainings are held at Marion County Children Services and are conducted by the Intake/Investigations Supervisor and/or staff.
