Our mission is to lead the community in the prevention, identification and protection of abused and neglected children. This is accomplished by working with families, service providers and community members to assess risk and coordinate community-based services resulting in safe, stable, and permanent homes for children.

We are a nationally accredited child protective services agency that
follows established standards of best practice. We hope that this website is helpful to you and provides valuable insight into the programs and practices we have in place to protect children and strengthen families in Marion County.


If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, you should call us at 740-389-2317, weekdays between 8:30am
and 4:30 pm After hours
or on weekends or holidays,
call the Marion City Police Department or the Marion County Sheriff. They will put
you in touch with a Children
Services caseworker. A caseworker is available for emergency investigations
24-hours/day, 7 days/week.
