Each year, Children Services files complaints/petitions with the Marion County Juvenile Court on behalf of children. These complaints/petitions may regard child abuse, child neglect, dependency, unruliness or delinquency.
No less than annually, reviews of the orders for protective supervision and/or custody are held. At this time, the court decides what, if any, changes should occur with or on behalf of the child(ren). The court has many options including determining that services to the family are no longer needed, the child should be returned home, the child should remain in substitute care, or the child should enter the permanent custody of Children Services so that the child can be placed for adoption.
